How to name the planets in the TRAPPIST-1 system? NASA has turned to internet users

Last week, NASA reported the discovery of seven rocky planets in the TRAPPIST-1 system. Three of them are in the so-called. ecosphere – wok zoneół stars, in whichóthe area there are conditions conducive to keeping water in a liquid state. Theoretically, life could exist on such planets.

Planets orbit wokół cold red dwarf – TRAPPIST-1. It is located in the constellation Aquarius at a distance of 40 light years from our solar system. After the breakthrough discovery of NASA zwróciated to the Internet usersów via Twitter asking for help in naming planets. The hashtag #7namesfor7newplanets quickly gathered a sizable collection ofór alternative names for recently discovered worldów.

People’s creativity knows no bounds. The proposals apply to almost everything. From Greek names associated with mythology, to days of the week, to heroów „Star Wars” and other popular filmsóIn and series of recent years.
